Aisha Lawson Tomlin
“Art comes from within. It is the center of your being, the connection between yourself and the environment around you. Creativity knows no boundaries so there should be no barriers.”
Born in Seattle, WA, Aisha Lawson Tomlin has been a self-taught artist for over 25 years. She managed an in-home photography and art studio for several years. Art began as a young child with drawing, then photography as a teenager, and painting later in adulthood. Aisha gained formal knowledge at Academy of Art in San Francisco, attending for three years studying fine art. For the past seven years she participated in calls to artists, art exhibitions, community art sales selling art and handmade jewelry, and donated art for charity and art auctions. Working with mostly acrylics, art comes from creating what is seen, felt, heard, and experienced. For her, expressing art gives a sense of peace in a sometimes chaotic world.
