Visual Artist, Nicole Van Dyken, is the mother of 4, all under the age of 8, including twin boys. With her husband they live in Chicago. In 2013 Nicole made the tough decision to leave her HR career to become a stay-at-home mom when her daughter was born. This allowed her to rekindle her passion for art.

Nicole is now committed to dedicating time into making her passion more of a career rather than a hobby. In 2018 she achieved her goal of being accepted as an ArtPrize 10 artist, a 19-day international art competition in Grand Rapids which was great in getting her name out as an emerging artist. As an artist with a love for vibrant colors, Nicole enjoys painting, pencil drawing, ink stippling and digital collage art. Her favorite thing about being an artist is being able to express her feelings, goals, dreams, and opinions visually.

A lot of Nicole Van Dyken’s work is meant to tell a story and she enjoys taking even the most morbid tale and adding strength and hope to it through color.
